.NAME Domain Names

Introduced in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level domain name extension is the single TLD intended for personal websites only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are famous by. Initially, only third-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to purchase john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired 3rd-level domain names remained running.

Through our company, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will be able to change the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization code from the current domain service provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific conditions on who can register a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the concept behind its creation alive, the Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
