Once activated, this option will literally lock a website within its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, all the other sites in the account will be hidden. Thus they'll be resistant to further intrusion. The JailHost option does not mean that you should not keep your Internet sites updated, but it'll significantly limit the damage.

JailHost in Shared Hosting

In case you host your Internet sites within a shared hosting account from our firm, you can protect them using the JailHost feature with just a couple of mouse clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is provided with all plans and can be activated for each folder as the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so that files for many different Internet sites don't get mixed up like it usually happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default as you could use scripts that need access to folders outside the primary site folder and this option can interfere with their proper operation, but shielding all of the other folders is really easy. If a secured website gets hacked for some reason, we'll be able to restore it promptly since we will have multiple daily backups of your entire account and you will even be able to view the available backups in Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting

In case you have a semi-dedicated hosting account, you will be able to start JailHost with a few clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel as we have included this feature in all semi-dedicated plans. It isn't active by default for the reason that you may use an application that needs accessibility to other folders inside the account and JailHost may cause problems, yet you could protect all other Internet sites by isolating them from each other. This is super easy as in Hepsia all domains and subdomains have individual folders. In contrast, a number of other Control Panels keep the content of multiple Internet sites in subfolders under a main domain, so just one hacked website there will mean that all of them will be hacked. With Hepsia, just one site could get damaged and even in such a circumstance, we can quickly recover it thanks to the multiple daily backups which we will keep, meaning that you can go ahead and update it after that in order to protect it from potential future attacks.
